Preview
Portuguese artist Kristina Mar, based in Kyoto, Japan, will lead an intensive five-day masterclass exploring the poetic intersection between screen printing on ceramics and the technique of thermoformed glass – a dialogue between image and volume, surface and mass.
Participants will engage in a complete creative process: from mold theory and the application of silk to wet clay, to the preparation of photo-emulsion screens, mastering the kiln and thermoforming glass onto ceramic forms.
The workshop will culminate in the creation of a sculptural composition incorporating fired ceramic, thermoformed glass, and raw plaster. Each material retains its unique presence while contributing to a coherent whole.
The process is not concealed; it becomes contained.
The transformation of matter, the tension and the trace remain visible.

Immersive experience

The masterclass takes place at Art-Marotte, located in the historic Braives castle. Participants are accommodated at the nearby Moulin du Château, a short walk from the workshop.
Group stay at the Moulin du Château. For five days, participants live and work together, allowing artistic exchanges and conversations to naturally extend beyond workshop hours. Participants are accommodated in shared double rooms (two separate beds). A few single rooms are available upon request and subject to availability. Bed linen and towels are provided. A simple breakfast is served each morning at the Château before the start of the workshop.
This immersive structure reflects the spirit of Art-Marotte: creation as a shared experience, material research rooted in the place, and the conviction that artistic dialogue extends beyond the workshop.
